Thomas Reardon biography

Thomas Reardon is Professor of Development Economics at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University. His research interests include international development, agribusiness, horticulture, fish, poultry, dairy, food systems, farmers’ incomes, technology, value chain, and rural employment among others.

As a Rockefeller post-doc fellow, he worked with the International Food Policy and Research Institute (IFPRI) based in Burkina Faso from 1984 to 1986. He was also Research Fellow at IFPRI from 1986 to 1991. In 2014, he was elected a Fellow of the AAEA.

Thomas received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
